This was a collaborative project with the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibway Indians. Created primarily in collaboration with the students of Nay Ah Shing, the mosaic represents the traditional and modern activities of the Mille Lacs people alongside their beloved Mille Lacs Lake. Created from approximately 250,000 tesserae. The mural site is open to the public: Nay Ah Shing Upper School, (approx. one half mile east of the Mille Lacs Indian Museum on Oodena Road), Mille Lacs Indian Reservation, Hwy 169 at Oodena Rd. 320-532-4695
Six natural stone mosaic murals, with shaped concrete and text insets were created for the entry of the Eden Prairie Library. The murals are based upon two "prairie" themed poems by Emily Dickenson and Carl Sandburg. Sleeping man imagery is from Sandburg's "The prairie sings to me in the forenoon / and I know in the night / I rest easy in the prairie arms / on the prairie heart".
Created in collaboration with Edison HS Art Students.
